Michael, Andrew and Chris Waring lead a team of food industry experts who are passionate in their commitment to be the best source of safe food.
Michael formed MWT Foods in 1990. He is CEO of the Waring Group, which includes investments in Australia, Vietnam and USA. He is chairman of MWT Foods USA and Laurel Foods USA (based in Oregon). Michael contributes to a number of industry organisations. He is chairman of the International Nut and Dried Fruit Foundation Council (INC). He is a former deputy chairman of the Australian Macadamia Society (AMS) board and continues to provide direct support. Michael is also a founding member of ‘Nuts for Life Australia', a nutrition and health education initiative.

Andrew leads our global purchasing and sales, including key market and product development. He spends many months a year abroad, sourcing new products, auditing suppliers and meeting with customers. Having studied in Switzerland and lived in Germany, Andrew's respectful understanding of different cultures allows him to build strong partnerships with buyers and suppliers around the world. He is a committee member of the Australian Cashew Association (ACA) and a member of the INC's business integrity committee.

Director and Manager, Strategic Sourcing and Marketing
Chris heads up our MWT Macadamia Program, working closely with the team in the Northern Rivers. Chris also manages the MWT Agri Program with an experienced and dedicated team, providing farm management services, leasing and assisting with macadamia production systems.
Chris is passionate about supporting farmers and growing the future of the macadamia industry. He spent his early working life as a jackaroo, then managed the Waring family’s former properties Bulgary Station, west of Wagga Wagga, and Tinana Creek Plantations in South East Queensland. Chris has an Associate Diploma in Farm Management and Agricultural Science.

Working closely with all areas of our business, Rachael oversees our quality assurance program with absolute care and commitment. After developing MWT Foods' Approved Supplier Program, Rachael continues to drive quality innovation in the food industry in partnership with our customers and suppliers. Her passion for safe, wholesome food led MWT Foods to achieve Organic Certification and the successful development of several Certified Organic products. Rachael's qualifications include a Diploma in Quality Management Systems, Food Safety Management Systems Auditor Certification, Lead Auditing and a Bachelor of Communication.

Nhung oversees our nut-processing facilities in Vietnam and works closely with Rachael Smith to deliver our quality assurance program there. Nhung was educated in Singapore and has a degree in Marketing.

Richard manages the Waring Group sustainability program. Striving for scientific rigor in measurement and monitoring of the groups social and environmental impacts, Richard drives strategic initiatives that align business activities with the UN Paris Agreement on Climate Change and the International Nut and Dried Fruit Council Sustainability Agenda. He is working to enable our operational decarbonisation, and seeks collaborative partnerships with suppliers, customers, and supply-chain members to do the same. Richard is a passionate and enthusiastic environmental advocate who holds a Masters of Environment and Sustainability from Monash University, the INC Basic Program on Nuts and Dried Fruit, and is available as a consultant to Waring Group. He enjoys travel, the outdoors, and exercise.

Karen is an experienced Supply Chain & Logistics Coordinator, applying her expertise across logistics, warehousing, transport and manufacturing. With experience in leadership and change management, Karen prides herself on performance optimisation to meet customer and supplier requirements. Karen’s qualifications include a Graduate Certificate of Business Management (Supply Chain Management), the INC Basic Program on Nuts and Dried Fruit, and her interests include volunteer work, travel, and physical wellbeing.

Michael is an accomplished professional with over two decades of expertise in logistics and supply chain management. As a vital team member, he excels in delivering innovative, customer-focused solutions to our global clientele. He collaborates seamlessly with stakeholders at all levels, providing leadership and driving the success of our Macadamia and Hazelnut programs. Engaged in new projects, demand planning, and supplier management, Michael focuses on operational efficiency and positive outcomes. His passion for innovation and new technologies equips him to integrate efficiency and automation into system design through logic and data analytics. Michael's dedication to continual learning and strategic implementation drives the ongoing enhancement of our supply chain capabilities. Michael's hobbies include cricket, music, and great food.
